VSUAA-GTAC Celebrates Scholars

Four members of the VSUAA-GTAC (NC) traveled to Petersburg, VA on April 13, 2019 for a Meet and Greet with our chapter’s 2018-2019 scholarship recipients. The Meet and Greet was held at YMCA, where one of the recipients had just completed a volunteer training. The Meet and Greet was followed with a fellowship lunch at Shut Yo Mouf Soulfood.

The Virginia State University Alumni Association- Greater Triangle Chapter (NC) is pleased to announce its 2018-2019 scholarship recipients:

Miss Bethany Henry , a freshman Psychology major from Wilmington, NC is a member of the Virginia State Volleyball team who were CIAA Northern Division Volleyball Champions and CIAA Championship Runner-Up. Community service that she is involved includes her church youth group, “Mother Hubbard Cupboards’, The Good Shepherd Center, Church Without Walls,” and Work on Wilmington. Bethany is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Kennedi Cannon a third year senior , majoring in Information Logistics Technology She hails from Charlotte ,NC and is a member of the Virginia State Volleyball team who were CIAA Northern Division Volleyball Champions and CIAA Championship Runner-Up. She was selected to the All Tournament Team CIAA Volleyball Championships . Community Service that she is involved includes: Volunteer at Charlotte PowerHouse and a coach for the Volleyball Club. Also she serves as an after School program Volunteer at Ettrick Elementary School,. a member of National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). and a member of Sports Management.

The Greater Triangle Area Chapter of the Virginia State University Alumni Association (VSUAA-GTAC) has a main goal to assist students from North Carolina who attend our beloved Alma Mater. The scholarships were $500 for each recipient.
