Michael Williams Host Panel Discussion

GTAC (NC) Member Michael Williams helped organize and hosted a college day panel discussion facilitated by the NC Dept of Public Safety Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Education Services Unit, which was held on October 12, 2022. The goal of this discussion was to foster an interest in post-secondary training and education for our students. Many of them, if they matriculate, will be first-generation collegiates. As you may understand, there is some apprehension on pursuing post-secondary education, due to limited success in high school, classification as special needs, legal history, limited financial resources, minimal parental/familial support, and the fear of the unknown. It is our hope that your answers will address and/or help relieve those concerns to help them realize that post-secondary education is not impossible but it IS POSSIBLE.
