Congratulations to GTAC (NC) member Dr. Taylor Whitehead on receiving his Doctorate Degree on April 20, 2023 and being named VSU Marching and Pep Band Director on April 23, 2023.

Dr. Taylor Whitehead a graduate of Virginia State University has been named Director of the Virginia State University Marching and Pep Bands. I have know Dr. Whitehead since he was introduced to me as an aspiring songwriter and recording artist by his high school director Snead Dennis, trumpeter and VSU graduate. I always have to give Dennis credit when Taylor does something outstanding because band directors change lives. If Dennis had not indoctrinated Taylor on being in the band at VSU who knows how many kids from Warren County NC would have missed their calling… Thank you Taylor for changing lives, because GOOD band directors change young peoples trajectory. You deserve this, you were destined for this job long ago… To God be the Glory. Taylor Whitehead
